Ferrari Takes Victory
Fuoco, Molina, and Serra Triumphant
The 92nd running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans concluded with a thrilling victory for the No. 50 Ferrari of Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina, and Davide Serra. The trio overcame a fierce challenge from the No. 7 Toyota Gazoo Racing of Mike Conway, Kamui Kobayashi, and Jose Maria Lopez, who finished second. Completing the podium was the No. 31 Cadillac Racing of Sebastien Bourdais, Joao Barbosa, and Tristan Vautier.
The race was marked by intense competition and several lead changes. The No. 50 Ferrari held the advantage for much of the second half of the race, but the No. 7 Toyota emerged as a threat in the closing stages. However, a late safety car period played into the hands of the Ferrari, and they emerged victorious by just over 30 seconds.
Antonio Fuoco, who drove the final stint for Ferrari, expressed his delight at the outcome: "It's an incredible feeling to win Le Mans. We had to fight hard all race, but we never gave up. I'm so proud of my teammates and the entire team. This is a dream come true."
The victory is Ferrari's first at Le Mans since 1965 and marks a significant achievement for the Italian manufacturer. It also extends the dominance of hybrid prototypes in recent years, with Toyota and Audi having previously won the race using similar technology.
The 2024 24 Hours of Le Mans will go down in history as a classic. The intense racing and dramatic conclusion provided a fitting end to one of the most prestigious events in motorsport.
